TRAVEL ITINERARY 

  • Day 1 - Mexico City

    Welcome to Mexico city


    Mah qualli xihualacan in Nahuatl language means Welcome to Mexico!
    We will visit the Museum of Anthropology, to immerse ourselves in the richness and cultural diversity of Mexico.

  • Days 2 & 3: The Cloud Forest

    Ceremonial sacred site & The Cloud Forest


    We begin our day with our offering at a ceremonial site dedicated to the worship of female deities, the “Pyramid of Flowers”. 

     La Yerbabuena is a project within the cloud forest, a vastly biodiverse ecosystem which is also one of the world’s largest water reservoirs. The Negrete family has been living in harmony with this environment for eleven years through ecological construction, environmental education and by generating awareness and community learning. In this dreamlike forest we will learn about new ecotechniques and health therapies.

  • Day 4: Tehuacan Reserve

    A Cactus Forest


    The Tehuacan – Cuicatlan Reserve has recently been declared as World Heritage site because of its natural and historical value. Here the first domestication of corn took place.

    We will discover this desert that is thousand of years old, together with one of the communities that protects this unique place. Is one of the densest forests of columnar cacti on the planet, which reach up to 20 meters high.

     

     

  • Day 5 : Mixtec Women

    The Pulque Women


    “Mujeres Milenarias” (Millenary Women) is a group of eleven Mixtec women who works to rescue the traditional and ceremonial techniques of producing “pulque” with their families. We will be welcomed with a jícara de pulque in a traditional community of the mountains of Oaxaca. where the Mixtec culture is kept alive, especially the tradición Pulquera

    We will also visit the mysterious caves and swim in the pristine waterfalls.

  • Days 6 & 7: The Zapotec mountains

    Oaxaca – La Sierra Norte


    In a village of Zapotec origin, located in the Oaxacan mountains, the inhabitants struggle to preserve their traditions and natural environment. We will meet with them and get to know their inspiring story of a self-managed community and entrepreneurial project.

    Watching the sunrise from El Cerro del Jaguar, we will close our journey celebrating a ritual to honor the duality of life and constant transformation.

    • SPRING CEREMONY JOURNEY: Every year, this small Oaxacan community comes togheter in a ritual, to honor the connection with nature and celebrate the passage to a new flowering cycle.

    • SUMMER JOURNEY:  We will share with the community the celebration of La Virgen de Agosto.

  • Day 8: Oaxaca

    Oaxaca City


    Oaxaca, is the cultural city of Mexico. The Capital of this state is known for it´s greater diversity, where all historical periods are expressed with natural elegance through the streets of colorful buildings, great museums, and exciting markets.
    You will have the day off to get to know the city through the old neighborhoods, walking and discovering the secrets it holds.

We are women, friends, mothers, curious discoverers and your trusted traveling companions. From our knowledge of traditional indigenous medicine, anthropology, herbalism and community work… we create spaces where women learn together traveling.

We will explore aspects of our femininity, listening to each other as creative women. We invite you to be part of this experience with the nature and ancient traditions of Mexico, while supporting community and ecological projects.
